Here, we firmly believe that there are valuable lessons to be had in making pretty pictures that children can apply to the 'big picture', their whole lives long. For us, it's not just about lateral thinking, but lateral SEEING as well! Just what sets us apart from the rest? At Art Boot Camp, we're DRIVEN BY PURE PASSION.
Your artistic journey is our priority. To support our inclusive community, we provide a personal approach, tailoring learning methods to each student's needs, and embracing a learning environment with both traditional and modern learning styles.
At Art Boot Camp, our philosophy is simple.
We believe that everyone is endowed with boundless creativity. However, to tap, channel and apply that creativity, certain boundaries are needed.
At Art Boot Camp, we set those boundaries with an approach to facilitating creativity that inspires as it instructs.
Our slogan says it all. At Art Boot Camp, we take... a disciplined approach to creativity!
Located off Upper Bukit Timah, our clean, well-ventilated and fully-equipped atelier Home Studio affords everyone with the Safe learning space to gather in a spirit of creativity and discovery, where the walls expand, the ceiling lifts, differences begin to dissolve, and a tremendous sense of mental mobility abounds!
Art Boot Camp is the realisation of the lifelong dream of a man called Lincoln Gabriel. Trained in and greatly influenced by the Nanyang style of painting from a young age, he was also blessed to be mentored by his friend, revered Singaporean artist and Cultural Medallion recipient - Mr Lim Yew Kuan.al Medallion recipient - Mr Lim Yew Kuan.
With more than a decade of active military experience as an officer, Lincoln is also a certified curriculum developer and instructional designer, as well as an accredited classroom and corporate trainer, possessing specialised skills in facilitation, mentoring, personnel development, and methods of instruction.
Having long harboured a desire to apply the positive aspects of what he learned in the military to the calling of the world of art, he personally developed the concept of Art Boot Camp, with valuable input from both local and foreign practicing artists and educators, training development professionals, as well as individuals from within the creative circles.
Aside from his obvious - almost infectious, love for sharing his knowledge with other learners; commercially, Lincoln is an established wood-burning (pyrography) artist, with many notable commissions under his belt.
Art Boot Camp not only marries Lincoln’s professional past with his personal passion, but also draws on and builds on his love for children.
He is an officer, an artist and loving father to two children.
Lincoln Gabriel is a man who appreciates that, behind every success – be it a triumphant military campaign or a great work of art – lies methodical and disciplined planning.
Art Boot Camp embodies that conviction. Hence, it adopts... a disciplined approach to creativity.
Aside from all the outstanding honours that our students have attained over the years e.g. Singapore's prestigious UOB Painting-of-the-Year competition honours etc; Art Boot Camp's very own have, over the years, have also gone on to undetake creative programmes at prestigious institutions - both locally and internationally, at the likes of Parsons Paris, Central Saint Martins, Goldsmiths, and Imperial College. Just to name a few.
This list of our alumni, whom we are confident will make a huge positive impact in their respective fields or areas of expertise at one point in time or another, continues to grow by the day.
We cannot deny that sketching and drawing are the fundamental building blocks for an artist. That said, come join us and learn how to do it holistically, and experience the free-est form of the creative process first-hand. It's never too late to start doing it properly, so drop us a line Now!
Be guided towards being able to conceive, plan and create original drawings and/or paintings and explore how to shape the elements of line, space, color, light and texture, to express ideas, describe perceptions, as well as to create interest, memorability, and beauty.
It's not always just about beautiful drawings and paintings. Dependent on the programme or the learner's academic requirements, learners will also be able to get Crafty and create bespoke creations of beauty!
Come rain or shine, we strive to bring you a personalised online learning experience that is second to none and specifically tailored and unique to each learner.. Each and every single time.
Fot 7-17 year olds, our camps are conducted 52 weeks a year and themes on canvas are customised to each child’s preference! Choose from any 2/3/4/5-day Weekdays throughout the entire year! Options are Half-Day (9am-12pm/12-3pm/3-6pm daily); or Full-Day (9am-3pm/12-6pm daily)!
Our Artjamming parties are very popular; and slots are almost always very limited. Book as early as possible to get your preferred slot! Party Goodie-bag add-ons come highly recommended!
Painting and maybe even sponging,...Art Jamming is all about that and putting on an apron to face a blank canvas and unleashing your own individual creativity... with a glass of Prosecco perhaps, friends and some music! Round up a few friends at your venue, and leave the rest to us, as we help you unleash the inner Picasso within you! (**We come to your venue, typically weekday evenings)
Candida Tay says:
“While others had turned us away, Art Boot Camp agreed to provide the formal training which my son needed - to prepare for and compile the SOTA admission portfolio. Realising a little late that he did have a talent for the visual arts and may have had a chance to enroll in a formal Arts school, we only had, effectively, just 4 months to get the portfolio ready!
So, thank goodness for the management of Art Boot Camp, as they were able to strategically build and expand on my son’s basic strengths, and concisely plan for the completion of a comprehensive portfolio, sufficiently covering all forms and media of the visual arts.
We would not have achieved this in such a short time, if it had not been for Art Boot Camp’s awesome stable of teaching professionals - each with his/her own specialty area and expertise. They were able to impart to him - the student - the necessary technical skills required for each art form, while allowing him to express his own creativity, and to develop his own style and ideas throughout the course of his journey. This, I might add, ensured inspiration for works of originality in the process.
I like it that the strategy employed by Art Boot Camp also stresses on the importance of research, planning and the power of good storytelling to sustain each piece of work. This, we thought was the backbone of any creative or commercial project, small-scale or large-scale - we’re very glad that my son has progressed exponentially under Art Boot Camp’s tutelage and has these skills which he can take with him through his post-PSLE education path and beyond.
Thank you Lincoln and the great team at Art Boot Camp!”

Alvin Tay attests:
“Allison, like most children, always loves to doodle in her free time! Initially, she had fueled her passion for the visual arts and hunger to learn more by turning to books and the internet, consequently being resistant towards the idea of attending art lessons, as she had previously felt that there was nothing else that teachers could teach her, based on her prior experiences from art lessons at school.
Subsequently, in her quest to gain entry into the Art Elective Programme (AEP) at the school of her choice – Zhonghua Secondary School, we realized that Allison needed to build up a portfolio of her artwork. We chanced upon Art Boot Camp, and as the saying goes, the rest was history.
Lincoln and his caring staff developed an effective and systematic approach for Allison, in terms honing her artistic capabilities, developing a sound artist’s portfolio, and also preparing her for the selection and interview process. Every step of the way! They were, I feel, able to help Allison move beyond what I felt she was capable of. In the short span of time, Lincoln not only helped Allison become more confident, but also more eager to improve on her skills and explore all forms of the visual arts!
I must add that Lincoln and his staff are sensitive towards the child's personality and ability, in that they were able to customise a programme to stretch Allison to go beyond. What I also like about Art Boot Camp is that they make the effort to celebrate each milestone, throughout the journey, together with the children and their families!”
